COVID-19 Vaccine Information
and Company Policy

Staff that are employed by Liberty Care Flintshire Ltd. are thoroughly trained and employed on the grounds that they agree to provide a high level of care and support and agree to hold a duty of care to protect those that we care for at all times.

As the global pandemic has caused so much heartache and devestation, we must work with the NHS, Public Health Wales and the World Health Organisation to do what we can to protect those we care for and those we work with, especially when working within a care setting.

All staff that are employed at Liberty Care Flintshire Ltd. have been, as from February 2021, strongly urged to take advantage of receiving COVID-19 testing that was offered to all Health and Social Care Workers within Flintshire. Detailed information was provided by the Manager.

There is a very detailed risk assessment in place that provides information and procedures that have been put into place to safeguard those with the agency, staff and users alike.

It is therefore expected by Management that all staff within the agency currently and those that will be employed in the future will have the COVID-19 testing as a mandatory requirement.

Detailed below is the information provided to date (18/02/2021) from the Welsh Government that outlines the reasons why Liberty Care Flintshire Ltd. is taking this stance, along with many other care agencies and care homes within Wales and indeed throughout the UK.

To be read with the following documents:

  • Risk assessment - to try to minimise the risk of spreading the Coronavirus infection within the agency - 18/02/2021

To continue to protect yourself, your service users, your family, friends and colleagues you should follow the general advice at work, at home, and when out and about:

  • Practice social distancing

  • Wear a face mask

  • Wash your hands carefully and frequently

  • Follow the current guidance

Further information is available on nhs.uk

As an employer in health and social care, Liberty Care Flintshire Ltd. supports the vaccination programme and encourages all those that are eligible for the vaccination to take the opportunity to have the vaccine when it is offered to them. This is not mandatory for staff employed by the agency, but it is encouraged.

Standard of Care

and Support

Liberty Care Flintshire Ltd. establish the preferred communication method and language of the individual we are providing to, prior to service commencement. We do not assume the preferred language of any individual and will seek to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Arranging for admitting, assessing, planning and reviewing people’s care

Liberty Care Flintshire Ltd. receive requests for care packages from different sources including NEWCIS, Flintshire County Council brokerage team, self-funded private packages and District Nurses. When we receive a referral, we will look at the needs of the individual and ensure that we are able to meet them. We will offer to provide the services where appropriate for us to do so and if the offer is accepted, we will make arrangements to visit the individual and complete an assessment with them, to identify their main aims and outcomes and put together a person-centred care plan to support the individual to reach their identified goals. We will also adapt and change care plans to suit the changing needs of the individual, as soon as it is required by going out and reassessing the package.

To review the individuals care, Managers/Senior Staff will carry out reviews as and when required, but if not required, we will carry these out every 3 months, with individuals receiving care and task family members to attend if they can. This is where we can come to agreements if the care is working and to make any adjustments if possible, to change their care needs. Also, reviews are carried out yearly with Flintshire service users which are held with the social worker. The amount of care may need to be increased or decreased depending on the individual’s needs. The staff on each visit will also be reviewing any concerns, this will then be followed up and a change of care plan will be implemented as soon as possible for all to see and put in the service users house file for all staff to follow updated plan.

“It really was so good of you letting your ladies come and help me. Thanks also for your help when I came out of hospital in the New Year”

“A serive user’s daughter phones to say how happy they were with the carers and Liberty Care and how much her mother got on with them. She was reluctant to have personal care but relaxed in the carers presence and got on really well with them”
